The building was a noble abode that from 1924 housed a glassworks factory. The restoration works aimed at preservation of all its peculiar features, as interior decorations and artisan equipment. The pure and cosy atmosphere of La Vetreria will make you feel at home. The café becomes a perfect place for your spare time, where you can meet people, read a book or play a parlour game. In our twenty-two bedrooms divided into thirteen apartments, you can find both the recovered traditions and modern comforts of technology. Il residence La Vetreria si trova nel centro storico di Catania, accanto al Castello Ursino, in un suggestivo scenario la cui vista abbraccia i tetti della città, l'Etna e si spinge fino al mare di Augusta. In pochi minuti, a piedi, si raggiunge il cuore della città, passando attraverso la Pescheria, caratteristico e antico mercato, alle spalle di piazza Duomo. Il nostro residence è ricavato all'interno di uno stabile sorto nel 1924 come fabbrica di specchi. La ristrutturazione ha conservato le caratteristiche essenziali degli ambienti, curando con particolare attenzione gli arredi e gli accessori, attraverso cui si è cercato di ricreare le atmosfere semplici e accoglienti delle case private sia negli appartamenti che nelle sale comuni. Così, l'angolo dedicato al bar diventa per i nostri ospiti un luogo d'incontro, dove leggere un libro, giocare a carte, a scacchi o a Monopoli. Über den Dächern der umstehenden alten Palazzi hat man einen schönen Blick auf den Ätna und bis zur Hafenbucht von Augusta. In kurzer Zeit kann man zu Fuß das Herz der Stadt erreichen. Die Pescheria, ein alter, charakteristischer Fischmarkt, durchschreitend steht man auf dem Domplatz. Ursprünglich war unsere Residence ein im Jahre 1924 erbautes Fabriksgebäude. Später erfolgte der Umbau, jedoch behielt das Gebäude seine Charakteristik bei. Aus diesem Grunde war man sehr bedacht, auch seinem Inneren eine jene der damaligen Zeit entsprechenden Gemütlichkeit zu bewahren. In der Tat wurden sämtliche Räume mit grosser Sorgfalt und gutem Geschmack eingerichtet. Ausserdem verfügt unser Haus über eine Bar und einem grossen Aufenthaltsraum, wo sich unsere Gäste beim Lesen, Kartenspiel und Schachzügen vergnügen können.
